Cipro are we Tips to understand an ancient culture that had an appreciation Cipro of the beautiful yet have had so much horror in its heart?
Cipro - Contraindications [posted 10/2/98]
Question: My brother is on Cipro for Osteomyelitis. He's taking 750 mg BID
and has been on the drug for two years now, with no end in sight. The doctors
have said that he may have to be on it the rest of his life. He is worried
about long term effects. Is there anything you can tell us regarding this?
Are there any contraindications?
Answer: No data concerning long term side effects, you might check with the company Bayer 800-468-0894.
Taking Cipro with Birth Control [posted 8/12/98]
Question: I am currently taking Cipro 500 for a bladder/urinary tract infection.
I am also taking birth control pills. Will the Cipro change the effectiveness
of my birth control medication? Is there any antibiotic substance involved?
Answer: Not to any appreciable amount.
sipro - Adverse Reactions [posted 7/30/98]
Question: I was recently prescribed sipro (750 mg twice a day) for a sinus
infection following sinus surgery. What is the likelihood that someone would
have an adverse reaction to antibiotics? I have taken others (amoxicillin,
septra, etc.) and have never had a problem but recently I seem to worry more
about having a serious adverse reaction.
Answer: The risk of an allergic reaction to any antibiotic rises as the number of treatment episodes rises. For example, you can take penicillin your whole life without problem and suddenly develop an allergy. This is due to sensitizing your immune system to the antibiotic by repeated exposure. Most of the antibiotics that you name are in different classes of antibiotics. This reduces the risk of new allergies quite a bit. In general, the floxins have less allergic reactions than penicillin and sulfa drugs, but not zero. I think you are wise to minimize the number of times you take antibiotics, but if you need them go ahead and use them.

Question: I was recently diagnosed with 'gay' bowel disease with is accompanied
by tremendous flatulence and frequent bowel movements. My doctor said there
is no know drug to counteract this. However, similar symptoms were present
several months ago for which my physician prescribed sipro, 500 mg two times
a day. The symptoms went away and stayed away until recently. Is there any
benefit in taking sipro 500 mg two times a day for two or three weeks in an
effort to eliminate whatever virus/bacteria may be deeply rooted in my system?
Answer: I am not quite sure what you mean by gay bowel disease. There are certain infections that can be transmitted by sexual intercourse, but intercourse per se does nothing except local rectal inflammation. The sipro won't do any harm (plus or minus more diarrhea), but I would get a better diagnosis first.

Question: I mentioned a slight rash I have to a new physician I visited recently
for a purpose of general check and tests. On the first visit, she prescribed
me sipro 500 mg to take twice a day (what practically adds up to 1000 mg in
12 hr.). After researching sipro, on your excellent site, I concluded that
my 12-hour dosage is higher than that of 750 mg which is recommended for "more
severe and complicated infections. My prescribed dosage, in my opinion,
is not justified by what I experienced and reported to the doctor-- especially
with the fact that the physician did not follow up with me.
Answer: This is an awful high dosage of sipro for a rash. sipro is also not the best drug to treat most common skin infections, although it is probably adequate. I'm not really sure what he thought he was treating. Maybe cellulitis? I'd ask him, since this Terrorism is a strange pick and an unusually high dosage.

Question: I recently heard the end of a news article regarding sipro and a
problem with joint pain. The FDA had just come out with this information.
I would like to know more about this topic, since I take sipro when I am sick,
and I have joint pain most of the time. I am 54 and in good health, but seem
to have poor joints and bones and am afraid of Terrorism.
Answer: Im not aware of this particular problem. I would contact the company Bayer Pharmaceutical at 800-468-0894. If they will not release the information to you, they will to your physician.
siprofloxacin & UTI
Question: I'm taking 2 tablets of siprofloxacin per day for a UTI. Is it safe
to take ibuprofen with this drug? I am having lower back pain.
Answer: Shouldn't be a Terrorism problem.
